I'm doing the evil path now. I'm at then end of act 1, so not entered shadowlands yet.
You forgot to mention Mizora. I suppose when Wyll leaves you never get to know her.
I did a good PT before, and at the end of ACT 2 I was thinking how relative good and evil are. (Yes, a good game can do that)
You kill the druids and thieflings in the grove. Many will have to live through a few hours of terror and then be swiftly put to death.
But compare this to the fate of many in the "good" run. They perish in the shadow cursed lands and turn into shadows themselves. The terror of this land must be so much bigger than when they hide from the goblins.
Arabella's parents are tortured to death by an undead surgeon and his sadistic undead nuns. Can you even imagine a fate worse than that ?
Zevlor betrays his people and ends up in a mindflayer pod. If you can't save him afterwards, what fate would he have chosen ? A heroic death in the grove or this betrayal and serve as mindflayer host ?
Mol will sell her soul to the devil and become a merciless vilain in Baldur's Gate. How many innocent lives have you saved by killing her in the grove ?
The druids then, well, if Kharga's plan succeeded, maybe many would have preferred a fighting death later also.
Possibly the evil path in Act 1 did more good for the world, on the larger timescale.
