While I am really glad they will add an ending, the romance still lacks commitment from Halsin. If we look at the romance like it is in the game today, he still never really says that we are in a relationship. While taking us with him might mean he wants to be in a relationship with us, he could also just mean that we are a welcome helping hand (+ we offer sex).
Really hope they also rework some lines or add something.

Imho, the new ending should have included something from Halsin like "You shall? I was afraid to ask you, but I wanted to start our life together for quite some time."

As for the new kiss, its really good, really passionate. I'd like to see another option to be added, something more intimate, with delicate touches. Thats something I've been thinking about for quite a while now. Have the option Kiss -> 1) Peck 2) Gentle kiss 3) Touch and kiss 4) Passionate kiss .. or something like that. This should go for all companions.

I dont really like the Minthara option, that he wants an ultimate choice from us, I would have prefered Halsin to be wise enough to see how the Absolute abused Minthara's mind. Looking at how he hates (Lolth) drows, one could argue it fits the narrative, but then again, why do we even need the brothel scene? Or why does it have to be drows? He could just say "I would really like to delve into such matters, but I am afraid Drows are not the best option for me." and then give us the option to talk to him in private about that matter. If people totally need another 'fade-to-black'-scene, then Halsin could also look around and offer someone else (who's of another race).
Truth be told, the whole brothel scene feels unnecessary to me. Its mostly written in a teenager-like way and the dialogue options are somewhat cringe.

Last but not least: I still think Halsin should be player-sexual. We have mono people, poly people and people who like the open-minded Halsin like he is now. There should be a way, that all said groups can have Halsin the way they like it. This is not about changing his characteristics (he can still be horny, but show different nuances in each relationship way. Also he could talk less about horny horny horny nature nature nature but more about other topics like funny stuff, cool things he saw and such). If we are fine with changing small bits of him (like the ending) but don't want to see any nuances added, we are just cherrypicking.

Fingers crossed that they actually rework the drow scene. In perspective of SH romancer it feels "not cool" to say at least(but Im more of actually rework SH's responses/actions there. Halsin related I have problem of his self invitation and disapproval tags).

I don't see any changes in the relationship dialogue. I don't see any choice for monogamous people. Everything remains the same. I see only a pathetic handout. I don't care about the kiss animation, because I can always watch porn with muscular guys elsewhere. There is nothing joyful for me in these links. It's still a bad novel.

Apparently everyone has their own "most players". Most players want to have choice and certainty. Why would I leave with someone who can't even decide who I am for him and what is going on between us in general. They have not changed the main thing, the relationship still does not exist.

What Laras says. I guess we can't really speak about minorities and majorities here, we don't have any numbers.
Also, this is totally not about changing him, it's about adding possibilities. Isn't that what we all want for our lives? Options and possibilities? Never seen anyone going into a restaurant that has like one dish to offer and all customers were like "Yo thats fine. I don't like the dish but yeah, for the sake of everyone who loves that dish, please don't change the menu."

You want Halsin for casual flings? You want Halsin as a monogamous partner? You want Halsin as a polygamous partner with another companion of your choice? Well, why can't we just have all options? And that's not just about Halsin, that should be for all companions.

He doesn't need a mono option, he's poly and if the other companions stay as they are then he will too.

One other nice thing about the (potential) new ending dialogue - it sort of explains what the writers were thinking before. Apparently they assumed we'd want to hang around in Baldur's Gate and enjoy all the honors being thrown our way. Which, yes, some of my characters might do, but others would like to get the heck out of Dodge, please!

I mean at this point, I am just happy that we got the option to go with him in the end. You know maybe (a big MAYBE) they want to keep the ending open because they are planning for DLC? Or maybe they are adding more stuff between now and the next big update? I mean who knows

I know this is not ideal for everyone but I think at least we are seeing some changes and additional stuff. I don't really expect big changes.

In the end, it's still a game, and to be fair to all players, I think a game that offers a romance system should either have all characters being completely player-sexual or all of them should come with a set preference. I'd prefer the first option though, as that adds lot of choices for every player. Or if we just stick with the narrative and characterization, then we would need some companions to be 100% straight or another one to be likely homosexual.

Like BioWare, maybe Larian will do that in a future game.

This is the only character whose preferences are set in stone.
His novel has not changed at all, it has remained as bad as it was originally. They didn't change anything.
I will repeat this again and again, even though you think that only you can have the right to an opinion. That's not so.
