Please, keep things the way they are, don't cave when it comes to something as normal as sex in a fantasy game.
Games like The Sims (one of the most family friendly games out there) integrated anything and everything when it came to sexuality ages ago and no-one died.
This game is mostly played by adults who should be able to deal with a different type of romantic options without feeling that the end of the world is coming.
One of the many reasons this game blew everyone's expectations and attracted players who never played an RPG before (or never considered playing D&D), was the unorthodox approax to socialization and sex.
Those who are against anything different than the standard relationships RPGs always offered are extremely vocal and loud: that doesn't mean they are right or a majority.
They know they can say "no" when they don't like a companion, they simply want to erase EVERYTHING they feel goes against their "values" out of sheer spite.
Please don't let them repress everyone else's freedom of choice in a game that offers infinite choices.
