While I would LOVE to make an old and wise wizard, like you said, I think they may have limited the maturity due to flow reasons. It's hard to justify an old wizard being level 3 to start with and the age difference with the other companions would make some of the romances awkward. I think they were trying to be safe.

That being said, there are some faces that look so young that when Halsin makes his moves on them, it's equally awkward/creepy because they look so much like children. Aging them up to mid-30's to late 40's would be an improvement in my opinion.

Of course, but the love stories are optional, as is the fact that 4 people or more escape from a ship and come together for a common purpose. On the other hand, it must be said that a role-playing game is just that, choosing what you want to be and making your own choices.
