Wyll and Karlach are the two companions we always travel with. Karlach (and actress Samantha Béart) love is welcome here but the thread is about Wyll. Wyll doesn't deserve the hate directed towards him and Theo Solomon, the actor who peforms the charcter in the game, shouldn't be snubbed. Rather than argue about that this is a thread for players who like Wyll and those who have played or plan a serious Wyll Origin playthrough. Also for those who support Theo Solomon as, I'm happy to say, I have seen.
I'm sorry, but I have to argue about it. There is no need to insult community. "Not popular" =/= "hate". If a couple of weirdos said something (never saw it personally), there are always a couple of weirdos saying something about anything and anyone. Every single companion (I dare say, every NPC) gets at least one always displeased badmouther. Community as a whole has nothing to do with it.
The sentiment I see around is "Wyll is ideal to play as an Origin character". But considering more than 90% of players chose a custom character and Warlock is not the most popular class, no wonder few play him.
As a companion, Wyll suffers from a lack of content and not-so-good pacing of romance (due to re-writing, afaik). Also, compared to EA, Larian changed his personality from a clear Warlock/Bard to a Warlock/Paladin. The story fully justifies the change, no complaints here, but some still remember "old Wyll" and those new bones could still use a little more meat.
