You could play a Spores Druid with a level of Wizard. That way you have unlimited access to both spell lists, as wizards can learn all spells from scrolls. The temporary hitpoints from Spores Druid makes the character rather tanky and the Thorn Whip helps you force enemies into melee. You could even try something like Spores Druid 6/Cleric (Light or Tempest)5/Wizard 1. That way you can add guardian spirits to the mix.
