Patch 5 is here and it's still unplayable. Awesome.

It's amazing how quickly making a game worse can change someone's perception of the studio. This went from being the best game I've ever played to just absolute annoyance at how badly this update process has been handled.

I'm going to assume Larian doesn't give a shit and this will never be patched. Not even an acknowledgement from them in an official capacity.

Oh man....I was so hopeful reading through the patch notes thinking all the adjacent changes might have meant this got fixed but didn't get listed specifically. I have tried a few times to get back into it since patch 4 but this just drives me nuts and I end up moving on to something else instead. Fingers crossed Patch 6 fixes it.

Honestly, same. That and the weird change they made with Gale's romance interaction (if you ask for a kiss, you can't leave without having to ask to speak about something else, hearing dialogue, then you get the leave option). It's all become really irritation, tedious, and off putting.

I loved this game, but these changes... why? Who asked for this? Why would anyone want a change that made things so much more tedious and clunky, and made it impossible to quickly move large quantities of stuff between containers? Sincerely hope it's fixed back to how it was in Patch 3 before the Xbox release.

Larian could at least have given us the option to swap between the new, stupid multiselect and the old but supreme method.
There's literally no good reason not to do that and they pretty much don't seem to acknowledge their mistake. Childish developer behaviour, I'd call it.

I was really hoping that the last patch was going to fix this, but its still a problem. Actually it somehow seems worse now. Trying to manage camp supplies in your stash is a mess. Camp supplies dont seem to want to go into your bag in stash and the only way I could get it to work is to move everything manually in inventory before putting in into your stash, but because multiselect doesn't work you have to do it one by one. It takes so much longer to manage inventory now.

Please. I love this game so much, but managing inventory is such a big part of the game that its kinda destroying my will to play atm. I like to have my inventory sorted and organized (thats just the kind of player I am) so I like to carry around extra bags in my inventory. One bag each for things like health potions, arrows, oils, throwables, etc. Multiselect is actually broken now when trying to move bulk items into bags.

Also, sidebar, Id really love to be able to name/label my bags in my inventory but that might be asking for too much.

As of Hotfix #13, no. (or at least nothing was announced, and I can't be bothered booting the game up on PS5 to find out). I did submit another bug report about it a week or two ago, and got a response saying something to the effect of "we know it's an issue and we're working on it, but as of now we don't have an ETA on when it will be addressed". Which like... I guess it's good that they know it's a thing, but it'd be great if it was addressed in the near future so that we can go back to playing our games. I worry that with the release of the Xbox version that they won't bother rolling it back to how it worked in Patch 3, because the new players won't have experienced it, and might complain.

I do highly suggest besides posting here, that people join the larian discord and vote up the feedback posts about the multiselect issue/make feedback posts about it.

Hotfix #15... 50 days, 6 hotfixes and a full patch and it's still broken.

God I miss playing, but I have too much inventory and I'm too deep in Act 3 to deal with the multiselect change (I tried the other day... 20 min and the sheer frustration of it...).

It took me some time to figure out, how it works on a PS5, but I kind of got used to it by now.
Open the container, have your inventory shown with R1 (if it isn't allready showing), hold square to start multi-selection, select with x the items, press triangle to move it from one side to the other.

Thank you but we know how the new multi-select works. The problem is that it sucks and is objectively worse than the original method as it adds additional steps to the process and causes a delay each and every time you want to go into multi-select mode. For some of us that means we're having to wait on the delay multiple times in the span of 30 seconds. It is incredibly annoying. By the time I can enter multiselect mode in the current method I could have had five or six items already selected in the original method.

It was a stupid UI choice made by someone that very clearly doesn't use a controller to play. They made a tedious process more tedious for no reason whatsoever. And if there is a reason, they refuse to state what it is. All they said in the release notes is "Improved the behaviour of multiselect in the Character Sheet and in containers on controller." That is a false statement and complete bullshit. It's worse. For some of us, it makes the game unplayable as we've sunk hundreds and hundreds of hours into the game, are used to an instant multiselect process, and all this does is piss us off when we play. I play games to escape, not be pissed off at stupid design choices, and all this does is ruin the experience for some of us.

Likewise. I haven't played since this change was made. It doesn't look like the massive Patch 6 has rectified the issue. Does anyone know definitively if it has? It amazes me that game-ruining change still hasn't been fixed or at least revised to being an option.

I tried with the new patch #6, and yeah, it still hasn't been fixed. I sent in some official feedback about it, I'll post their response here when I get it.

In hindsight, I should've said I wanted the R2 multiselect to be available AND romanceable, I think they'd be into that.

I also submitted official feedback weeks ago and never got a response. At this point I’m pretty sure this is either super low priority or is just the intended behavior and there is no interest in changing it.

I just tested and m glad to say they seem to have (mostly) fixed it. You still need to hold a button to enter multi-select mode but it is less annoying than having to long press to select every item.
