I wanted to add one more note. As a Durge I killed Karlach for the Infernal Robe, it was my Robe for the majority of the game bc it gives a +1 to AC as well as fire resistance. Tho you can survive without it.

Keep in mind there are a lot of things resistant to poison and acid, so there will be situations where those spells will be useless, especially in act 2 because most things are undead, i mostly used fire in act 2. In my early levels I would use Ray of Sickness or Melf's Acid Arrow from a staff but it wasn't always useful. Magic Missile works on everything and never misses and just like any spell with damage, they have a stronger version per spell level.

I advise to improvise until you reach your ultimate goal. The best stuff is in act 3.

For my build to work, Alfira has to die as normal for the cloak and so does Isobel for the slayer form. If you want to save last light then you will have to save nightsong first then go kill isobel. Shadowheart will become a selunite and I advise handing her over in act 3 if you go that route, or don't, up to you. Also keep in mind if you save last light you will miss out on a ton of xp. Nightsong will also kill a ton of enemies if you save her, robbing you once again of xp. Tho you can semi make up for it by trading Nightsong off to Lorroakan in act 3, which you will get the hood and robe in his tower, with or without the exchange, see guides for more info.
