Hi all,
I am in the Dark Forest & I am trying to use the scorpions to help me with the guardian protecting Eye of Cyclops. Did ok but had to stop in the middle of battle to rest & get more potions, after I rested the scorpions disappeared. Is this normal? Or is this a bug?
P.S. i would say that is normal....for them to disappear
overnight, can you make more, and carry on or what?

Normal. I once stormed the orc camp, got hit after I summoned 10 scorps and used the teleportation stone. I got in my hideout, drank some potions and when I got back the scorps were gone.

summoned scorpions will roam wherever they want unless u bind them to your character via aura of command. when u mentioned rest, u mean sleep right? anyway, when u rest, any summoned creatures will die off as your spell(s) wears off.

one thing i note is that if u let the scorpions loose without binding them to u, they wander & kill any creature they encounter & if u're not nearby, u'll miss the XP from the kills. & THAT is a big waste of scorpions & XP.

While storming the orc (sorry Jurak) camp, I summoned several scorpions and just stayed in one place. I kept receiving experiance even if the scorpions were beyond the range of the minimap.

Death- did you have aura of command on them? janggut is talking about when you don't.

I never use aura of command. In fact the only spell I tried in game was Metheor Strike Level 1.

boy that's a first. i've played DD about 3 times already, each with different class & i always find that i won't get any XP if scorpions kill enemies too far from your character. the only evidence i can find of the kills are dead bodies & loot.

DATD, I found that I got xp when the scorpians went off the map as well. The first time I used them I released about 20 and they slaughterd every orc aorund.

I summoned half of that and regreted it... Especially when I was chased by 8 orcs (including elite ones) at level 20, trying to lure them to my scorpions. Wouldn't be a problem if I knew where my sorps were... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
