I am on a PS5 and noticed all of these game-breaking issues yesterday while already in Act 3:
- Party won't follow or can't interact - Can't switch party members - Visual issues like Shadowheart's feet are in the ground and building overlayed where there shouldn't be one, etc. - Cannot fast travel - Game loads just hang at 67% - Issues when game does load like incorrect save file, etc. - Cannot interact with doors or pathing that leads to new areas - Noticed issues selling items - Same thing happens with multiple saves
Game can't be played and I'm not too happy. This is my second play-through (this time on Tactician). Hard to believe this hasn't been addressed yet.
After the new update I still have problems, maybe it's a little better, but not enough to be enjoyable. If it was my first run I would put up with these problems, but as I know it's a serious downgrade compared to previous versions I'm discouraged from continuing for now.
It seems to have mostly fixed it in the baldurs gate area...but now I see the issue.. though not as bad, in the rivington area. Lol Close enough I guess

Played a bit more..yeah it still is broken but the game is no longe unplayable
Same here. I just submitted a couple of bug reports. I can't even fight Cazador has my companions won't follow me into the final chamber and Cazador pops in as I get closer but doesn't monologue and I can't interact with him. Given the AI issues on following me, it feels like a memory leak.
I'm having the same issue. I'll do Astarion's quest and everything is fine up until I walk through the doors to the fight area. The triggers are broken, I can walk right up to Cazador and nothing happens, I can't interact with him either. I can't save or load game, just quit. Like he said, my companions don't follow me to the fight area, and I can't swap with them, if I click the potraits it will just move the camera to look at them, but I'm still in control of my previous character. This is my 5th playthrough now and it is the first time I'm having an issue like this. I am using mods, but they are the same ones I have been using since my 3rd playthrough.
This bug started happening to me in Wyrms Crossing, act 3. Moved on to the lower city since but it's always present now and the game has become really broken and unplayable. Game is fully updated. It's my second playthrough as Durge, 84 hours in, first one was Tav and got through it without any performance issues, just a few minor glitches and a crash or two for 135 hours.
Here's a clip of several i took demonstrating the problem:
Sounds like I've been fortunate, as on single player I haven't had any issues. But when I try to play with my brother, PC for me, Mac for him, the game runs into serious issues with him not being able to log in, getting randomly booted, or when he can get in having some pretty show stopping graphics issues. This seems to be particularly bad in Lower City of BG, so bad that he basically has to log out and I run the party to the next area connected to Lower City, then hope he can log back in when I get out of Lower City.
I haven't seen any responses regarding these issues, has Larian done so? Even if it's just an update saying they are aware of the problem would be nice.

For me its happening around or after talking to raphael and entering shars temple. From that point til the end. And I am playing on Geforce now Ultimate. Intresting thing is before they killed the game on SteamDeck. It was running better on the SteamDeck then with ultimate tier gfn rtx4080.
The last couple of days I've been really struggling and yes, it's Act 3. I play on PC and I have issues with my companions not following some of the time (particularly when I use Waypoints. From Rivington to the Lower City. Well I say some of the time, which is today but yesterday it was most of the time. The Waypoint thing is that the Waypoint stays active too long and while it's active (like what you see when you first meet Gale) your companions can't move. But yesterday I also had it in Wyrm's Rock where companions didn't want to follow across the bridges or into another room.
Today I've been mostly fine until I used a Waypoint in the middle of the map (lower city central wall). My companions didn't want to follow for at least 30 seconds but probably more. And from that moment on it was harder to get them to follow, I had to stand still and wait 30 seconds again. It's like there's a delay. Another issue is that sometimes when a convo gets triggered I have to wait, again 30 seconds, for it to trigger. For example, in the Blushing Mermaid I wanted to loot the opulent chest in the back and I couldn't open it. I had no idea why but after something like 30 seconds a convo popped up because someone saw me trying to steal.
Also doors are unopenable today, at least visually, but you can actually just walk through them even though they seem closed. It's just annoying that they don't open visually. I mean, I guess it's an improvement over doors visually being open but you can't walk through them and you have to close and reopen them (that's what it's been like for at least a month now for me). Oh and there's an issue with the Potent Robe which has been the case for a few days as well. It only shows the skin properly when I get close to my companion who wears it (hireling). As soon as I go a little bit further away the whole skin is messed up and goes white. And it's the first time this has happened as well.
I'm just not really wanting to use Waypoints and just hope that my next session will be better. I can still manage quests today fairly decently (Yesterday it was near impossible so I quit playing), but the game has a very delayed response when you interact with something or someone some of the time. It's not all the time but really it's not fun to play like this. Also sometimes npc's around me have lag and walk but don't move and that can take a while as well.
In a way I'm glad I'm not the only one having such issues because it means these issues are not on my side, but I do hope that these things can be fixed soon. From the looks of it, it's been going on for a while.
I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, 'wouldn't it be much worse if life *were* fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?'
