Thanks for the corrections. I admittedly did not try energy cage on everything, but never had a failure like I did sometimes with freeze.
Perhaps it was a glitch in my game. I watched closely and never saw fire, lightning, or poison trigger. Don't stack with another skill like stun perhaps?
