Not everyone cares about their character looks or maybe even like it , because it looks edgy and evil and some people dig it. I do care for my characters look, but I still think this is a low price to pay. You consume all this tadpoles and the only consequences are some black veins and a check, if you consume a more powerful tadpole? You put stuff in your body, you are not supposed to be putting there, there should be more. Plus, there is no reaction from companions or other NPCs.
I don't necessarily need a reward for not consuming the tadpoles, other than be able to get better endings.
