It's always weird to me that people complain Halsin "replaced" Helia when it's actually really obvious Minthara was the one to do that.
None of them did that. Helia was an origin, most likely, she was replaced by Durge, since good, resisting werewolf and good resisting Durge are quite similar.
Helia was scratched very early in development, her recorded voicelines narrated her story, which was a feature from the early beginning.
Minthara was most likely planned as a companion afterwards.
