For me, this game is a solid 10/10..... When it works.....
I mean seriously, this is everything I ever wanted in an RPG, even down to the annoying dice rolls that can completely break your run, because that's what D&D is all about. Sure, you might get a kind DM who doesn't punish you to the maximum, but it still revolves around your luck with a set of dice. The only problem I have with the game at all, and I mean ONLY thing, is the fact that it has become unplayable due to technical issues. I can see how Larian don't want to acknowledge something that might cost them a GOTY, but it will cost them massively more in the long term by ignoring the issues, because gamers are the hardest audience to please in the known universe!!
This was my undisputed GOTY until this happened, now I am frustrated at having clocked up a mere 1 hour (approx) of progress from my last 15-16 hours of actually being in the game. I just have to struggle through the 20-30 minute freeze-ups and find stuff to do on the side before it unfreezes. Gutted as I am 2 trophies away from Platinum and this is my Dark Urge Tactician run.
Please just roll back the problematic updates and all will be forgiven! I'd rather have quirky animations than a totally broken game
