However, in your suggestion, I think Minthara might not be so willing to flee in the middle of battle. It's a little tricky. She does have a big ego though so I could also see her wanting to live.
Yes. I can definitely see her being stubborn, but I also think it makes sense. Especially when you consider that prior to the raid, she says:
"I do not intend to lead a suicidal charge. The goblins are expendable; I am not." In my humble opinion, if Larian wanted to add a new recruitment path for her that doesn't seem silly or metagamey, this would be the one that doesn't require a lot of change. The foundation is there.
