If you want a game that makes good use of dice rolls, I'd suggest Disco Elysium. Failing a roll there is never catastrophic, sometimes it is even the better outcome. BG3 however almost forces save-scumming (especially on a first playthrough) which along with the atrocious load times makes for a bad experience. It's like playing with a sadistic DM.

To be honest, I don't find the load times terribly egregious, well, not until you hit act 3 and everything is a 50/50 whether or not it's actually going to load or not. Funny you should mention Disco Elysium, it is the next game on my list and I will probably give up on my BG3 Platinum until they've fixed it, I'm just so bloody close though, it's a big tease!
