I don't think that content ever existed. Minthara is like the other non-origin characters, her stuff is limited compared to theirs. There might be some dialogues that don't trigger but thats about it.

The Act 3 Minthara overhaul you are looking for wont be in until a year from now... maybe two. That is assuming Larian would even bother with such a project.
Which I really hope day will, I think Minthara should be available for a good playthrough and she along with ALL the other companions should have more scenes in Act 3.

Either way, keep being vocal about it. Minthara deserves Origin status. The damage is done btw, whether intentional or not. Also in the Meta way. The main cast VA's getting the spotlight but I haven't seen much from Minthara's and I haven't seen much from the Narrator as well... and I've been wondering who had voice 8 for thr custom character...

But for an unknown reason it was cut (in my opinion because they didn't have enough time before release). Hope that it will return in time.

This is a nice find! I somehow managed to get the same scene by rescuing her in Moonrise Towers, going back to Monastery, and then re-entering the Shadowlands. They probably planned a possible recruitment in Act 1, but never properly worked on it enough for it to be implemented. Same with Minsc

Anyway, I’m bumping the thread to ask: am I correct in thinking that Minthara is the only companion without a proper romance greeting or a kiss option?

I finally decided to romance her and there doesn’t seem to be any change to her voicelines. Is this the bug everyone was talking about? Or was the greeting/kiss never a feature at all? Kinda weird that I can kiss Halsin who is supposedly her “counterpart” and not her. Picking the option to “talk about something private” also leads to nothing and I’m not sure if this is a bug only on my end (due to 40+ mods) or it’s universal. Sorry if it’s been asked before, it’s a bit jarring to me.

Yeah they've been doing a lot of work just to get her romance flag functioning properly, interactions beyond that are either still in need of fixing or don't exist to begin with. There are a LOT of dialogues and reactivity with her that do exist in the files but much of it was intentionally cut and much of it just doesn't fire properly. Like the conversation to confirm the romance in Act 2 or 3 where she says you're hers that night is just an implication, the only scene that exists is the one you can pursue at the Goblin Party. Hotfix 9 also added a brand new bug where any time you gain Approval after reaching Very High approval, she bugs out and thinks you've cheated on her. It would be funny if her dialogue bugs hadn't already been omnipresent since launch.

The best that can be done currently is a debug mod to re-flag her romance after the bug happens but editing your save file that way obviously poses a little more risk than some mods.

Well. Last hotfix actually fixed her romance (drow twins, final dialogue etc.) or its just worked for me (there was a bug when she thought I cheated but romance continued normally). There is now some different lines with her during others dialogues in act 3 (for example with dryad in circus) but nothing more. You can get kiss at final moments (end of game). Definitely some dialogues are still missing like "alurlssrin" (I missed it probably because of male drow tav but it would be strange if it is like that). That's all. Deffinetely lack of interaction during romance. So just be ready to "You wish to consult me?" most of the time. And hope for returning cut content.

Oh, there’s a whole new bug? Thank you for the heads up. Everything seems to be fine for me so far, but I ended up submitting a bug report to bring it to their attention. I suppose we don’t really have a way of knowing if the lack of options are due to a bug or it never existed at all - I strongly hope it’s the former because they seem to be focusing on fixing bugs more than anything else right now.

It’s really a shame that a lot of lines were cut, I just recently discovered most of them pertain to banter with other companions if Minthara is romanced. In terms of cut content, I would want those to be added first instead of the pregnancy plot they initially planned. Maybe it’s because I’m a woman but it’s just not that appealing to me, and there are other more interesting things that can be expanded upon like her connection to Lolth and being a Baenre (which is supposed to be a huge deal). On a lighter note, I find it funny how she's become my favorite companion even in her current buggy state.


Okay, so I'll either to have to get used to her being my consultant for the remainder of Act 3 or I pause my run and wait until Larian fixes her I hope that alurlssrin dialogue isn't locked away from drows too, that would be a bummer. Fingers crossed they change or add something to her in the next patch.

So... this has been quite the interesting run when it comes to actually getting the intended outcome. As many have stated, I too have done all I can to get the proper romance and story beats associated with furthering a relationship with Minthara. I didn't flirt with anyone and the only thing I can think I've done is give a Black Oleander to Shadowheart in Act 2 but that never caused any issues with my Lae'Zel romance on my 2nd playthrough. I got the proper Act 1 and 2 scenes with her and have said everything you should to achieve the romance. I get to Act 3 after the meeting with the Emperor and she says we are together, forever bound and she would have me that night. No cutscene of course but I figured all seemed fine otherwise. Then we get to Rivington and after talking to her she mentions pickpockets (strange since no one attempted to pick pocketed her) and after that line of dialog I exit the conversation and once again speak to her. She immediately stated I seeked affection from someone else even though I have not been remotely romantic to anyone else this run except her.

Then we go to the dryad in the circus and after getting all the questions right (Minthara's approval is near max at this point) the dryad states that my character's heart belonged to another and mine and Minthara's love was fragile. This has very much confused me and I'm unsure why I would be getting such a response when I've been nothing but devoted to her romance this run. I go to the Drow twins in Sharesses Caress and surprisingly she states she doesn't want to share me with them and states we are together. I'm confused and aggravated at the possibility that continuing on may not yield anything more worthwhile when it comes to her personal story and romance with my character.

What am I supposed to do? After hearing her response with the Drow twins I'm a bit relieved but unsure if it's still bugged or not. Very frustrating to say the least.

Should I keep going?

Hello! There is currently an approval bug with Minthara where she will accuse of you cheating when you reach 70+ approval points. This is likely what happened after that pickpocket dialogue. Larian hasn't fixed it yet and this bug doesn't seem to happen for everyone. Around a week ago, I found a Reddit thread highlighting the same issue. Maybe it can help you. I strongly advise you to submit a bug report to Larian anyway to help them out, and be sure to attach your save file if it is unmodded.

As for continuing or not, it's up to you. There isn't much content for Minthara to begin with in terms of romance, so you won't lose out on much. If you don't want to wait for a fix, I'd suggest using Script Extender to re-set her flags.

Thanks for the response. I'm just going to forge ahead and hope maybe I can squeeze some new story content out of the experience with her. I'm already doing an evil run so I'm getting some new stuff as is. Was just hoping to get more out of it romancing and having her in the party since I didn't even know she could be apart of the group until my second run 400 odd hours in.

I still have one character save that I prepared for Minthara that still sits on the nautiloid until Larian properly fixes Minthy because I still keep reading and hearing that she's still unfinished somehow, doesn't have proper romance scenes. So, yeah... and I really really can't wait to experience her.

Same. I’m in the middle of Act 2 with Minthara, but it feels like I should also wait until she’s fixed. Argh, it’s frustrating.

iirc wait until the end of Act 2. That's when her dialogue and stuff really starts to pick up. It will always feels like less than the other companions simply because it is.

Hello I've come here today to tell you: Minthara is amazing and needs more content and her bugs fixed, it's been freaking 3 months, Larian what are you doing-

I'm over halfway act 3, but it still goes:

Tav : I want to talk about a private matter
Min : Then speak
Tav : Actually, never mind.

No other choices. I'm not romancing anyone else, murdered the grove for her, and attempt to make most decisions so that she will aprove. (Which was not always successful, but still I would love some more interactions, even if she doesn't want romance)

I genuinely think Minthara fans need to be more annoying online if we want them to fix her and fill in the gaps, like missing dialogue options and such.

I recruited her recently and now I completely get what all the fuss is about, she's great.

I just reloaded a save with my gith mage before I killed Minthara and knocked her out. She probably will hate my guts , when she becomes a companion, because I'm goody good, but I guess, she will be more entertaining than Halsin. Her comments with clown were gold already ( saw that on YouTube and loved it).
