The Owlbear summons her mate, who's the same as the Owlbear. So you're basically fighting two owlbears and the cub. There's no second cub.

It definitely ups the difficulty of the fight. Normally I walk through that fight without a scratch. This time, both Andrick and Brynna died in the combat on my playthrough. I wasn't expecting a second owlbear at all. It was great.
