same here for nearly a month now.
raised Support ticket back in December and was told that Studio was aware of the issue, and should be resolved in patch 15, which obviously haven't worked.
Then patch 16, and still same issue

Was the bug present in release version?
Did it start occurring after one of the hotfixes?
Will physical copy have same issue?

The workaround, with cross saves doesn't work for me, or when it works, allows to Save once and then error 544 returns

Hello,

As you can see from my name im pretty much into this.
So the issue is present from thw start, everybody got the same answers from their support.
Larian is aware Swen Vincke himself answer tweets regarding the issue.
There is whole community behind this but most of us lost hope already.
The worst case is a kid from USA who ruun into this game breaking bug in late SEPTEMBER, and unabel to play since....

Same issue here. This is really REALLY frustrating. I've been filling the "bug report form" every single day and I always receive the same "copy & paste" answer:

Bumping to keep this at the top. Still not fixed, still no meaningful update from Larian.

If I just bite the bullet and buy the game on Steam too, does anyone know if I'll be able to resume my game through cross-save?

Dont do it, i tried it, cant load the saves on PC where I already had the error 544 issue.
Can load and can save in the savefiles before the first error 544 issue.

After 9999 attempts, managed to successfully save after killing Raphael for the 1000th time, but didn't loot his armour this time. But it was probably just a coincidence. Tryed to play 10 minutes more and save again, but didn't work anymore.

Bumping to keep at the top + bug report number 10000000 submited.

My husband and I just ran into the same issue on our playthrough right after defeating Raphael ...
Error 544 on PS5 Honor Mode.

I am, well, pretty mad now. Already hat issues with PC saving files and lost two campaigns on errors right before ending the game and now on PS5 the same?

This isn't fun anymore frown

I started experiencing this same Error 544 bug a couple of days ago. I’m two main quests away from my first play through and have put over 240 hours into it. I’ve tried the troubleshooting and nothing sticks. I really wish I would’ve just gotten the game from Steam, but I had so many PlayStation credits that it was practically free. I’ve since purchased the PC version, because if I have to start all over, it won’t be on the PS5 with this amount of negligence either from Larian, Sony or both.

I’m adding my experience to the rest of you. I started getting the error occasionally in act 3 and got stuck at Raphael’s fight with no more possibility to save.
After several attempts the following day I did manage to save three more times and then no more.

Right now I currently have only 4 saves and I keep getting the message that I must delete or overwrite my saves since I reached the maximum for the campaign. Overwriting just gets me the failed saving with 544 error message.

I thought that while waiting for this to be fixed I would start a second run with a different character but it seems the number saves limit is shared so I am unable to save even once with the new run.

It’s basically impossible to play the game anymore and it’s worrying to see some people are in this situation since months…

I also tried to enable cross-save but it keeps saying my email and password are not correct…they definitely are because I am able to connect to the website through my phone without any issue. I am not sure what is wrong with the PS5…

With no response from Larian, this needs visibility to be effective. Directing this to Tassi and other bloggers may be an appropriate next step. Hopefully a public acknowledgement that there’s a bug that doesn’t just prevent saving in a single playthrough, but prevents users from saving in any playthrough, effectively making the entire game unplayable will get a different reaction from the studio.
