Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Constant Crashes on PS5 after Patch 5 + hotfix 12

Game is unplayable, crashing approx. every two minutes in Act 3, Lower City (after Patch 5 and Hotfix 12). Have done the following:

Uninstall/Reinstall x 2
Start PS5 in safe mode and run all diagnostics
Moved game data to external SSD storage and moved back to main console storage
Created new saves

While I've seen others mention this issue, it doesn't appear to be as widespread as other reported issues.

Anyone else on here having a similar problem?

I'm having the same problem. Game has been unplayable all week on PS5. I'm in Act 3 Lower City. Crashes every minute or two, not making any progress.

Can we please have an update on this issue?

I'm having the same issue. Constant crashes in the lower city in Act III - game is unfortunately not playable. Seemed to kick off around about the time I got to the basement of Elfsong Tavern and persists even after fast travelling and avoiding that area. Would love to not have to start the game again/hold on to my exisiting save.

Just wiped the ps5 and restored to factory settings. Will let yall know if this resolves anything!

Also, just realized after posting that there was already a related thread! My bad!!!

I did not experience random crashes while moving around, but many/most of my save games from act 3 do crash on loading. The one playthrough without any corrupted saves is the one where I am doing a solo run, so it is probably related to some companion quest or something like that. On successfully loading these from earlier chapters a bunch of inspiration events pop up instantly. I guess one of these is the source of the crash.
Once again, a patch makes the games worse than before. I guess the next patch will make the game unable to start at all.

Good luck! I myself did that and it didn't work for me but other folks have also been able to start a new game and then while playing it load an Act 3 saved game and it worked. Either way, Larian needs to address this issue.

Dang. Still crashing even after a whole system wipe and clean install.

I’m having the exact same issue. Tried pretty much every fix in the book but still experiencing crashes every few minutes. Really hope they put out a fix for this soon, I’d like to be able to actually play the game haha

During my Honour mode playthrough, I just finished the goblin camp, and went to long rest with the Tieflings. Had a sex scene with Astarion, and then game crashed.

Now any time I try to load my Honour Mode save, it hits 100%, and crashes.

If I try to load any other saves, the game either crashes at 100%, or crashes when I do split screen.

Game is currently literally un-playable.

Yep this is the exact same issue I’m having I’ve sent two emails to larian support. For some reason they thought I was playing on an Xbox, so I guess they performed a query for Microsoft?? I do not know if they are OK… I do not wish to lose any of my saves. The game is unplayable because it keeps crashing. And I’ve heard nothing but crickets for PS5 users..
