Today I saw an intresting video about patch 5 and directx.
So I went in the game folder and setted up directx 11 for default launch on my SteamDeck.
On the performance menu of the deck I setted up. The Tdp limit to maximum also Gpu.
Frame limit I setted to 30 and disabled it. I only used it in act 3 rivington and around big crowd of ppl.
In game settings :
Display fulscreen. Refresh capped at 60. Vsync optional.
Fsr 2.2 to quality
Model medium Shadow low Cloud low Texture medium Texture filter trilinear Instance low Fog low Detail low Animation medium
Shapness in the middle
Anti none Ambient off Depth of field gaussian Depth of field quality quarter Everything else off.
In act 1 outside the fps is between 50-60 Inside in small areas it's between 60-90 I don't have Oled so I just capped at 60 in game. In act 3 around many npc's it's around 28-30 going away from the crowd ist started to go up to 50.
My guess with Oled and undevolting can go up way higher or the graphic settings can be better. I just wanted to share this because the difference between standard default Vulcan and directx is night and day.
I really want to capture the difference and post out on yourtuber but I can only record it with my phone. I think no one will benefit from that:)
I also think if they could move this performance boost to Vulcan side also Ps5 and SteamDeck and a lot of pc users could benefit from it. And for SteamDeck we don't need to give a command to force directx 11.
Well there are some dips into the lower lvls in fps if there is a lot of enemys and npc's. Like druid Grove goblin camp but I don't see anything until now below 38 in act 1-2. As far as I tested. Maybe it's better to lock to 40 . But vs Vulcan it's definitely better.
