Hi, I believe the spoiler toggle below is correct but beware of potential spoilers below. I know there have been posts about this here but I wanted to make sure I was actually experiencing an unfixable bug and clarify what fixes there may be. I am playing on ps5 and am also experiencing frequent graphical bugs in act 3. I am in act 3 and have experienced the following prompts but have not been given the trigger for the romance cutscene. I am unsure of how to see the companionship level but believe I am very high up.
1) She did not kill the character at the end of act 2 and has asked me to be committed.
2) She has dyed her hair and asked how I like it
3) I have successfully completed the romance “quiz” in the circus
4) we are currently looking for her parents and have interacted with the npc in the refugee camp
5) I am given the kiss prompt
6) All initial interaction dialog is very playful
Some oddities that I am seeing are:
1) I am given a prompt that says something along the line of how we shared some sort of romance in the past and her response is about maybe in another life
2) She had a short dialog very early in act 3 about sand in her hair.
3) she says she wants her first time to be with me when interacting with the Drow in the brothel.
I do not believe I have ever received a prompt about anything related to swimming.
My questions are: 1) Is my game, in fact, bugged and the scene has been jumped over? 2) Is there a way to fix this? Ie. loading a save right before act 3. 3) Is this bug exclusively related to the romance scene or will it impact my ability to see future cutscenes and maximum character development? Thanks, Boome

I'm currently doing an Origin Astarion playthough, and I romanced Shadowheart this time. I *did* trigger the Act 3 romance scene for Shart, even with Patch 4.
* I made her Selunite Shadowheart, so she has silver hair
* I interacted with the NPC near the refugee camps in Rivington
* I took her to Sharess Caress, but did not speak to the Drow Twins
* Did not do the romance quiz at the circus
* My approval rating is at Exceptional with her.
My main question for you is, did you rent a room at the Elfsong Tavern?
I triggered the Shadowheart Act 3 romance scene, while camping outside, literally the first night we were in Baldur's Gate lower city. Normally I talk Alan into giving me a free room at the Elfsong, but this time I had all my characters sleep outside by the docks. Right before the romance scene, she had an exclamation mark above her head, and she talks about how she needs the water to cleanse herself and tells you to meet her that night.
The same night, I got the romance cutscene (skinnydipping), and the next morning she jokes about how she's still finding sand in her hair.
If you want to try the route I went, try and find a save before you rented a room at the Elfsong. Do a longrest while camping outside in lower city and see if you can trigger the Act 3 scene.

I do not believe I rented a room at the tavern (not really sure what/where that is). Do you need access to have accessed the lower city to trigger the scene?
I’m actually not sure if I have even gained access to the lower city. I just used my pass to get past the large construct guard and crossed the bridge. The last thing I have done is initiated the dialog with the construct that gets possessed by Gortash.
The buggy part is that I received the short dialog about sand in her hair and the odd “once shared a romance” dialog option. Don’t know if these bugs mean the scene is no longer available or just there until the scene is obtained naturally?

Short answer is, yes, her dialogue interactions in Act 3 have been bugged since patch 3 dropped. They show dialogue options that are completely irrelevant to the situation. This was not fixed in patch 4.
And also yes, it sounds like her Act 3 romance scene has been pretty heavily bugged for you. It’s not normal to be that deep into Act 3 and have her making comments about sand in her hair without the actual scene happening. I don’t think this is connected to the dialogue bug, though.
Not sure why you’re missing the romance cutscene. I know that some folks have missed it, but I never have. Did you ask her in act 1 or 2 about herself as a person and she revealed that she likes night orchids and can’t swim? I think her act 3 romance cutscene weirdly might be locked behind getting that response from her.

You definitely don’t need to be in the lower city to trigger the scene. I’ve gotten it pretty much immediately after the start of act 3 in Rivington.

Wasn,'t it in act 1, at the celebration party when you've gone away privately, Shadow asks you to tell something about yourself and your history. After this, you can ask her to say something about herself. She says she can't really say anything, and then you respond that she likes night orchids and can't swim. Something she said earlier. She's glad that you remembered that.
Maybe you need to have had that dialogue to trigger the swim scene later.
And probably also have to give her the night orchid.
In my swimscene, BTW, we weren't skinny dipping. Both kept their underwear on.

I’m not entirely sure but I would assume I have. I’ve had plenty of personal dialog. Are the orchids available after completing the night song section of act 2? I may just go back to a save right before act 3 and make sure I have satisfied the orchid Morton of her dialog.
Have you heard of people who experienced the bug being able to load an act 2 save and then get the cutscene? Or would the bug be a guarantee by the end of act 2?

I’ve triggered the romance scene without giving her the night orchid. Don’t know how the tiefling party dialogue affects it, because I’ve always chosen to mention what I remember about her. And the scene is skinnydipping unless you’ve chosen a game option of making those scenes more modest.
I mention getting her response about night orchids and swimming in regular dialogue because I saw another post on here recently where their act 3 romance scene did not trigger specifically because they did not get that response from her in act 1 or 2.
And yes, the night orchids should always be available as long as you’re in act 2.

And the scene is skinnydipping unless you’ve chosen a game option of making those scenes more modest. Yea, the banter was actually pretty funny. You first, no you. Turn around, no you. LOL.

Yeah, it’s really cute. Shadowheart’s my favorite. <3
I triggered the scene when I had not given her the Noblestalk, so I don’t think it’s dependent on that either.

Hmm that's weird, I allowed the nudity option, but in the "lewd" scenes that I could trigger, I had to undress before going to sleep and then the scene would be nude. If I went to bed in underwear, the underwear would stay on. Which also happened in the swim scene. But I hadn't saved before going to bed, so it was not possible to go back and remove all clothes before doing so.

Have the same issue. We had the dialogue about her new white hair and after that if I intteruct with her she starts telling me about having nice time and sand in her hair. I even reloaded to the begginig of the chapter 3, but with the same result.
Did u manage with the problem?

Well theres a Bug that Karlach couses i dont know if they Fixed already..
But the Bug couses exacly this..
(thats actually the first reason in my first Game i start to avoid her heavy and never bring her again.)
If yu Bring her in the Game and Dont Give Shadow the flower..
The scene with the Beach will bug and yu will only get the coment in the next Day.
But i saw some reports of people giving the Flower and get the bug same way..
so only way those people find to fix was to start again without Karlach..
(A LOT of people had this.. and Larian actually released a bunch of hotfix to force her scene to play out for those having this Bug.)
I dont know what Coused the Bug..
but if yu Had her in your Camp in the game this can Happen.
BTW in my second game ever.. i did not bring her, dont give the flower and the scene run ok..
(so the real couse was something with Karlach.)
Theres even a Mod dude in the Nexus that Force the Scene to Play out to Fix this Bug.. Crazy thing.
Karlach couse another Bug with Shadow too.. Before the New epilogue/ending..
She would Burn away in the Dock and Eat your Romance ending scene with her..
(another Reason i start to avoid her Heavy..)
She really Bugged a lot more in my Game too when i bring her the one and only time.. haha
(like Gortash scene.. i was send back to desktop, never had this with any other companion.. just Her.)
its like she is Cursed to me Bro.. sorry.
Just another stuff she coused too.. when they Released Patch 3.0 and Gave her a Bunch of new Stuff..
the New ending and bla, bla, bla
They Bugged the Beach scene yet again and still did not fix till this day..
Shadow hair goes Black when she get Naked in the scene..
Before 3.0 this never happen.
i Told yu She is Cursed dude. haha
Kalach is Cursed dude be Carefull.. xD
