Hello,
First, thank's for this great game.
I played this game without a problem but since patch 5, it's stuck in the loading screen at 100%. No menu.
I uninstall mods, verify the files : stuck at 100%.
I uninstall the game, then install : stuck at 100%.

If you're using Steam, disable the game overlay in settings.

If you're using GoG Galaxy, disable the game overlay in settings.

The game should hopefully load up just fine after you disable the game overlay options on Steam and GoG Galaxy. This bug was introduced a few big patches ago for me and is still there and very annoying. I don't know why the game overlay options for Steam and Galaxy cause this hang up, but it has taken almost 7 minutes for me to get past the load screen and to the game menu.

I use Steam wihout overlay. The game stuck on my desktop computer but it's OK on my laptop computer.
I waited 1 hour but nothing.

I disabled Steam overlay (on desktop) and the only change seems to be that the loading menu doesn't cycle between backgrounds, it just has a static image of the main BG3 poster. The menu still refuses to load after getting stuck on 100%.

During my Honour mode playthrough, I just finished the goblin camp, and went to long rest with the Tieflings. Had a sex scene with Astarion, and then game crashed.

Now any time I try to load my Honour Mode save, it hits 100%, and crashes.

If I try to load any other saves, the game either crashes at 100%, or crashes when I do split screen.

Game is currently literally un-playable. PS5 btw.

I had the same problem (judging by the "symptom"): stuck at 100%


How did I "fix" it?

- bypass the launcher: can the game run without the launcher? yes. (if not, completely delete the game and reinstall it)
- remove all the saves: can the launcher work? yes. (if not, delete Steam/GOG and reinstall everything and this game)
- start a new game using the launcher. make a new save and reload it to verify everything works.
- move 1 old save back to where it was. restart the game to load the old save to verify everything works.
- move all old saves back. restart the game to load old saves to verify everything works.

I essentially made the game fix itself, and it did (meaning: most likely this was an issue related to caching and/or something like inconsistences in registry settings etc.).

How bypass the launcher ?

It's OK with the last patch

I ended up wiping my graphics drivers using DDU (https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/) and doing a clean install of the newest driver directly from AMD's website, rather than installing automatic driver updates through Windows. That appears to have fixed the problem, as BG3 now recognizes my correct display adapter just like my other Steam games do and runs smoothly as a result.

Pretty much my issue though on PS5. What ever the latest hotfix was, it didn't fix it.

I'm not a fan of this kind of hyperbole, but the game is quite literally unplayable for me right now.
