and no one would have looked at him twice, if he were a halfling, dwarf, dragonborn or halforc. Many people are looking twice at Barcus! (I assume "gnome" counts as part of your list)

(I assume "gnome" counts as part of your list) Barcus is beloved as a character, yes. But Ia haven't seen countless trheads about Barcus romances, whereas the Halsin threads mainly are focused around romance and sex tbh Speaking of: The Barcus actor would deserve the nomination for sure.

Even horrible Wulbren is utterly well done. (And I think the gnome models are all very cute and good looking.)

I'm sorry, the other actors simply had better, and more fun roles. All Halsin provides is thirst. Larian knows it, and deep down most people do too. That's honestly the biggest reason why he was even nominated. Had they made other romanceable male characters as buff as him (Wyll or Gale), he would probably recieve a quarter of the attention he currently has and that's being generous. Remove his looks, he has nothing. That's all there is to it.
With that being said, I think Raphael's voice actor should win. He was phenomenal.

I have a gnome artficer playthrough (I made my DnD character with the help ofa mod for artficer class) and she is just so adorable.

The BAFTAs are not about the character nor their popularity, they're purely about the performance itself which brings life to a character and Dave Jones absolutely did that just like the rest of the cast. Which is why it's important to separate the dislike of the character itself and the talent behind the character that brings it to life. Would he be my personal choice? Not really, but there's no denying that Halsin is wonderfully brought to life as a chill and reasonable Druid that likes to experience life as a free spirit in all shapes and forms, which is why I personally like the fella. Couldn't care less how he looks or who he likes to sex in whichever form, his stories are very interesting to listen to and quite hilarious at times, I loved the one about how he got his scars ^^ My personal nominee would be Emma Gregory for her performance as Minthara, because she is in my opinion miles above anyone else's supporting role and criminally forgotten because of Larian's f*** up. Her voice mannerisms are utter perfection that really embody the Lolth inside her and I love how playful she gets with it whenever she nonchalantly wants to execute someone, like Sazza for example. Incredibly powerful performance that makes my ears perk up any time she speaks
She is to me in BG3 what HK-47 was in Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic.

That's how I see it, the exaggerations are annoying and this is about the VA's performance, not some players dislike of the character.

So where is the problem? I was talking about diffculties in roles and I don't think, you can't compare a complex role like Raphael with a relatively simple role like Halsin. I can give other examples, but those two are nominated, so I compare them. This has nothing to do with dislike - I don't liek Astarion much, but I can recognise, that Neil absolutely deserved an award.

Yeah, it sounds in this case like people are projecting (I.E. they determine their favorites based on sexual attraction so therefore they assume WE must be deciding our favorites based on sexual attraction) and that since they use their favorites to decide which actors are most deserving, we must be doing that too...

Of course I'm sexually attracted to Auntie Ethel - really now?

Sure, the lesbian person who picked Raphael as their favourite performer over Jaheira, must clearly be making their decision based on sexual attractiveness!

I was about to point that out too, thanks . Not that I don't think, Jaheiras actress isn't good and not that I said, that Dave is talented, that just the roles are of different difficulty. And I do like Jaheira more than Raphael and still think, his actor should get the award.
