I wish Larian would have included in their public statistics which player character voices are the most used by players, because the voice actors behind our characters kinda get overlooked. Even though their roles seem not as big in comparison to the companions, I do feel like they give a lot of life to the characters we play as and thus would have been interesting to see which voices are the most used.
Alas such info is not available, so this poll was made in case anyone wishes to share. Personally I always use Voice #4 (F).

As someone who doesn't like custom characters much: Gale! ^^ He has some very on brand Tav-lines too. I think, for my durge attempt I used 6, but I am not sure.

I love using voice 8 (how it was labeled before the sliders got messed up/labels gone on PS5) for my Dark Urge bard. It fits her personality perfectly. Only problem is, the Dark-Urge-specific lines don’t play when you switch to that character! I reported the issue and hopefully they’ll fix it. I’ve used a voice 4 for a different character, which I also liked, and the Dark-Urge-specific lines do play for that one.

Voice 6 is my favorite. I play DUrges but I didn't know DUrge had a specific voice set when I first started playing and hers appealed to me to most so I always use it.

Wait, by Durge specific voice sets you mean idle stuff like "Wretched thing, pull yourself together?" and "Build my castle of bones", or is there something more than that?

I like Durge's default voices the most, both male and female. The female one just sounds so done with everything most of the time.

Yup, voice 8 does not have that dialogue (or any other Dark Urge related lines) when you switch to the character, when playing as Durge. It is a problem with the idle dialogue. I sent in a bug report and they said that the team is aware of the issue.

Which is the default voice? I didn’t realize that there was one.

Which is the default voice? I didn’t realize that there was one. The game automatically selects voices 5 and 6 for Durge, so I call them default.

Oh I see. Just googled now and Reddit mentions a ton of Durge's lines and that the Voice #8 is bugged. I actually was gonna use Voice #8 for my Durge Orc Honour mode playthrough yesterday as it's the only one somewhat barely fitting for an Orc, but omg the beast runs like it's gonna fall over at any second so I had to abandon that idea

Yes, voices 5 and 6 are default DUrge voices. If you click on Dark Urge origin, it's voice 5 who does the intro speech. I recently saw a video where Tav 1 interviews Tav 5, it was pretty cool! It's nice to put a face to a tav (or a DUrge)!

In case anyone is curious; I found the voice actors and sorted them out by the menu selection ^^ ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/wHd37m9.jpg)

I love voice 2 and 4 -they are the most used, I voted for 2. I do like voice 6 too, so deep and nice, but it doesn't fit most of my small characters.

Oh, NICE!! Tina Barnes, whose voice I picked for my Dark Urge character, actually even looks like my Durge. I love it.
My Durge is a little elf cleric/bard, but I feel like the voice just suits her.

My character also has voice #4. It fits her perfectly, it's exactly how I imagined her voice to be.
Thank you for bringing attention to the player character's voice actors, Crimsomrider!
Companions, player characters, NPCs - the voice acting in BG3 is amazing.

Huh, interesting that the female voices are more popular on these forums. At least with the limited sample size here.

Most of my DUrges have been female. Two were male and 1 was Non-Binary. I have a somewhat deep voice myself, so I guess I just relate to her voice more than the others. But I agree it probably wouldn't suit a smaller character. I very well might try a gnome next.

I've only played my male drow so far (but planning to play also female characters) and I choosed voice 3. Thank you for showing us the faces behind the voices! I really love voice #3. *Edit* I've forgotten the voice of my coop character. I guess, it is No. 2.

I typically pick Male #7, because it's the closest thing to being vaguely "gruff", which fits the type of characters I made so far. Frankly I don't think anyone of them is BAD, but it's more than a bit puzzling how little they differ from each other and how little range they cover, in terms of fitting for different type of characters.
Realistically I realize that when a game is FULLY VOICED you can't have a million of options (even if unlike other NPCs, the Main Characters in this game voice only a minority of their lines) but I wish they could use at least some expedient to create a more convincing illusion of variety, like for example passing some of the already-existing voice sets through some AI filter to alter them. I'd love to have the scottish dwarf or the orc with the booming, deep voice, for instance.
