Saw where someone commented that the original vision of the game had the Dark Urge default as a Paladin for playthrough. I am curious what everyone things of this. Do you do the Paladin heroically fighting his urges to be better or do you go Oath Breaker and all crazy on stuff?

Do they allow you to avoid every possible 'evil' act yet as Durge? If not, then there is no "heroically fighting his urges", since you're forced to give in to them.

Would it not be amazing if they offered an achievement for getting through the whole game as Dark Urge and never breaking oath for an Oath of Devotion? (Picked that one as it is the toughest to stay true to)

I'm currently playing DUrge Vengeance Paladin on Honor Mode. I never played a paladin before so I didn't know how this was going to go. Vengeance seems pretty forgiving, I've broken it twice and I'm in Act 3. Sometimes paladin logic doesn't make much sense. I am planning on resisting so I'm not foreseeing any more accidental oaths broken. Or I hope not. That's if I survive until the end of the game.

The one unavoidable DUrge thing in Act 1 didn't break my oath. It was at the start when you see Lae'zel in the cage. I failed a check with the tieflings and had to pick a side. That's what broke my oath in act 1. Not the unavoidable DUrge thing.

I like the idea, and I think mechanically it is the most interesting thing to do, but for me it wouldn´t [didn't] work. I mean, the class you have says something about the life you´ve lived up to that point. Storywise it makes no sense waking up on the Nautiloid with your Oath to Helm.

Fear my wrath, for it is great indeed.

A paladin durge makes no sense to me. When in his history did the dark urge take the vow?

Suddenly, he wakes up with no memory but empowered by some noble vow he apparently took?

It broke my oath of vengeance.

Durge paladin would make more sense if you started with a broken oath.

I honestly thought it would break my oath and was surprised when it didn't. Unless it was supposed to happen and I had a bug.
