Still an on going issue, it went away for a little bit from a couple patches back, but came back after the most recent patch.
There were a couple of small patches/updates pushed out over the past week or so. Before the most recent one the game was loading up to the main menu screen in about 20-25 seconds. When the most recent patch came out the game is back to hanging at the 100% load screen when I start the game up. It should not take upwards of 12+ minutes for the game to launch just because the game overlay feature is enabled in Steam or GoG Galaxy.
I've tried numerous things on my end to see if I could get around this long ass wait time for the game to load up to the main menu after I launch it, but I haven't had any luck as long as the game overlay feature is active.
Things I've tried:
* updating GPU driver to most recent
* changing from fullscreen to windowed and borderless window
* reduce graphical requirements
* starting a new game after getting to the main menu and having that game be the current one that loads when you click "Continue" - thinking maybe there's less for the game to try and load up when you launched it
* verifying game files
Basically nothing works if the game overlay feature is enabled on Steam or GoG Galaxy. It should not take 12+ minutes for the game to get to the main menu screen after launching it just because the game overlay feature is enabled. GoG Galaxy shows I've got 100 hours into the game, but with how much time I've had to sit and wait for the damn game to load up to the main menu after launching it I can easily say I've wasted 10-12 hours waiting for the game to launch.
As soon as I disable the game overlay feature and launch BG3 it takes about 20-25 seconds for the game to get to the main menu screen.
This is frustrating because I need the game overlay feature to be active to invite players to join me.
Fix your game, Larian.
