The question is in the title, how do you throw a healing potion to someone on PS5? One of your companions I mean, in combat. So that it heals them and doesn’t damage them. I keep looking for a “throw” option, but I just can’t find it.

What worked for me was to use the inventory screen (rather than the action wheels), select a potion, press the "square" button, select Throw and toss the potion at my companion's feet. You should see a very small 'area of effect' shadow where it will land and your target should highlight in green. At least, that's what I saw.

I use the "throw item" option in the Radial.
Press R1, look for a green icon of a hand throwing a rock. Looks like this:

When throwing potions, throw on the ground, and not on your companions/allies:

When done correctly, your companions will be highlighted, but not show disadvantage/advantage percentages.

DO NOT throw on the character, because you have a chance to miss. You also have a chance to bludgeon your companion on accident. When you throw on the ground, your friends will be standing in the healing liquid, AND you have the chance to heal more than one character at a time, with just one healing potion. Gale and Shadowheart are both at max health, otherwise they both should have been healed.
