(1) You stole the key that belonged to that bird and got detected - that's why the game put you on the path to a premature massacre.
(2) Which cloak are you worried about? No matter what you do, you always get a unique cloak from your butler.
(3) I wish your action had not brought death to Dammon. Otherwise, he could give or sell you a few unique items that are counted among the best.
PS - I forgot this: you have most likely also lost access to a powerful end-game ring, an extremely powerful end-game robe, as well as a few very useful items that would otherwise become available in Act 2/3. If I were you, I would probably just write off the 10 or 15 hours of gameplay and redo everything from the very beginning.
This sounds like I'm getting chewed out for playing the game. I accidentally clicked on a key, which led to a tiny bird starting a massacre. Restarting my run completely defeats the purpose of HM. Things are not supposed to go as planned in HM; that is what Tactician is for.
