I heard you rushed and rushed and attacked. Then they rebuked and you had to smack

Causing rambunction throughout the sphere...

Sage words, like whoever busted those rhymes kinda nailed it hehe

I think this spell probably needs a nerf though right? Like it really redefines the playpattern once it's attained.

As I recall by the books the Globe is supposed to prevent magic spells from crossing the barrier. Here it prevents all damage within the sphere, except weirdly falling damage (which sometimes still happens if you globe dive), but otherwise pretty rough for the enemy vs the huddle up. Dazing magics and things the knock the character prone may still sometimes work. Combined with the right shoes and cleric spells though the caster of the Globe can be made pretty much impossible to move.

Not quite sure how to nerf it in it's current state, once you get everyone used to such power, but it's a spell that's never really used against us, so maybe that's another way to handle it? I fully expected to be disintegrated a few more times, but only really saw that one as a trap, and I don't think ever saw an enemy use the Globe vs the party? Like can you imagine if suddenly one of Raphael's minions popped that bubble up out of nowhere, that might make it more of a double edged deal, but right now it's pretty easy to coast with the shield dome up.

Perhaps a different version might be something like no missiles or spells lower than lvl 5, melee attacks at half damage inside the globe? Or no missiles/spell attacks can pass the barrier in either direction. I mean obviously it's fun to use as just an absurd uber ability like the black hole, so I don't know. Feels like things like Black Hole or illithid repulser is what the AI is given to compete on this level, but those also are used only sparingly even at the highest difficulty. Some encounters seem tailer made for the globe, like the foundry, but once I get used to using it it's hard to go back to just choosing to have everyone take damage, when it can mostly be avoided, even if there is a slight delay of game with enemies crowding in, or just wasted turns. Combines with stuff like flight and elemental warp, it's just very powerful. Maybe only 2 rounds instead of 3?

What do others think?

Ps. The boards are back! Also here's the wording from Beyond compared to the BG3 wiki, which would have to serve as like our defacto game manuals I suppose.

Globe Of Invulnerability (D&D 5e)

6th level abjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self (10-foot radius)
Target: Self (10-foot radius)
Components: V S M (A glass or crystal bead that shatters when the spell ends)
Duration: Concentration Up to 1 minute
Classes: Sorcerer, Wizard

An immobile, faintly shimmering barrier springs into existence in a 10-foot radius around you and remains for the duration.

Any spell of 5th level or lower cast from outside the barrier can't affect creatures or objects within it, even if the spell is cast using a higher level spell slot. Such a spell can target creatures and objects within the barrier, but the spell has no effect on them. Similarly, the area within the barrier is excluded from the areas affected by such spells.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the barrier blocks spells of one level higher for each slot level above 6th.

It reminds me of the bubble shield in Halo. Something that can give you temporary invulnerability but at a cost. Since enemies can also run into it.
