Weird that a relatively young elf would be hung up on everlasting life. I'm not saying such a thing isn't possible, just that I'd hope the elf's natural longevity would be taken into account when considering whatever caused him to be worried about how much time he had left.
I think we really need to get back to making the races different and highlighting those differences.
