It's funny, because I don't play tabletop yet I never had any issues with Wyll, or warlocks, despite not knowing this clss well (old BG games had none). Even on my first playthrough, where he was just a warlock with a dash if fighter, I've found the blade pact and meleeing in darkness very useful. Spellcasters altogether were a bit of disappointment, though, with how few spells there are on higher levels.
