I am really not english fluent, but I wonder if there is a real friendship or fellowship built between the characters during their adventure

During my current run, I decided to have no romance with Karlach or Shadowheart, and have Astarion in the party in order to know his full story
I have now the fealing that the friendhip between character is not developped at all

Or is romance the necessary path for friendship in order to build relation between all characters of the team ?

Playing RPG DnD decades ago, I do remember that some relation where built between characters and we where hoping that we could go until romance with some of them, but here we have either immediate romance or nothing

Again BG3 is a great game, ang I hope plenty of other turnedbase DnD CPRG wiil appear in a near future. thank you Larian
