I just finished the whole BG III to the end for the first time. Great game. Looking back, I really liked how it did not feel too linear, and how it captured the sense of exploration, both in the wild country and in the bustling city. And I really liked how certain NPC's moved themselves along to show up in the new areas sometimes, as it's always good to see an old friend. But Narlen Darkwalk from BG I still wins the prize for the most interactive yet independent NPC. I was really hoping to go on a thieving caper with Mol at some point. Or maybe Rolan might have needed help with a threat from some other wizard trying to wrest control of the Tower. Those two wonderful characters came the closest to Narlen, but they were just a bit short of Darkwalk's greatness.
