I like most of them a lot, dont get me wrong ... but there is one small problem. :-/
They all kinda "feel the same". :-/

https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/Legendary+Weapons

We have a 2h Sword ... a Dagger ... a 1h Sword ... a 1h Mace (not really sure if this one should count tho) ... a 1h Sword ... Bow ... Caster Staff ... 1/2h Trident ... 1/2h Spear ... a 2h Sword ... 1h Mace ... and yet another 1h Sword.

Why so many swords? O_o

I mean yeah ... swords are cool and stuff ...
But why no Barbarian got an 2H-Axe? O_o
Or Why no Paladin got and 2H-Mace? frown
Or even better why there is no Halbeard at all?
You know it kinda sucks when you play whole game as polearm master, just to respec in the end bcs there is nothing suitable for you and Balduran's Giantslayer is simply too sweet to pass. :-/

You know what i mean?
DnD offers you HUUUUUUGE variety of weapons ... and they all are same from mechanical perspective, but it helps you (or at very least it helps me, but it may be just my compulsive disorder) to flesh out character with nuances ...

My Paladin would never use a Sword, bcs Swords are basicaly useless against Undead ... you need to smash them into pieces, and thats why he carry a Mace, allways. (Also ... i like Warcraft. O:) ) But here? Sword or nothing. :-/

I gues what im trying to say is ...
PLEASE ... if you will add some more Legendaries in futher updates, DLC's, or in your next game ... just stick a small note "we allready made a sword" on your monitor, and try to give us some variety. Ok? Thank you. smile

Also ...
It would be really great if we would have option so somehow extract the legendary aspect of item and put it on different one instead, effectively allowing us to make whatever weapon our heart desire ... it also seems like something Lorroakan could have ben hiding on, or under his Tower. :3
Just and idea. O:)

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown

Yeah, would be nice to have a bit more variety. If I could wish for something it would be a polearm, a longsword and a battleaxe.

Larian itemization.
Been discussing this since day 1 BG3 and day 1 DOS2.
Why is anyone surprised? This is a Larian game so deal with it I guess...
90% of modern "rpg gamers" don't seem to mind so meh.

Thats why Im still playing BG2 and prefer it. But Im bitter old fart who know nothing so who cares.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..

Itemization in the game is highly variable.

Some items are extremely cool and well designed. I was worried a lot during EA but I have to admit that I really love what Larian did with some items.
On the other hand, 90% of them are totally useless or highly specific and it apply to legendary weapons too.

They are usually good but I agree with Ragna : it lack variety and some classes (or build) don't even have a very good weapon at the end of the game (or use the same again and again).

Only 1 staff, 1 * 2 handed weapon, 2 great finesse weapons but you get them at the very end...
Other weapons are very specific like Nurylna that is only great for thrower build, Duellist prerogative that has very cool passives but require to have an empty hand, Shar's spear really sucks, the mace is okay but not so great in act 3 both for martial or caster cleric,...

I really wish the definitive edition will rework most items in the game. I'm sure Larian know we are always using the same 10% of them^^

I never played thrower build ... bcs throwing is so anoying with removing icons from your bar ...

But Nurylna is actually pretty interesting for Reveberation build too. smile
It dont give you huge amount of damage, but enemies are basicaly permanently dazed and much more fragile against certain efects. wink

I had the same feeling ... until i just recently noticed that it allows you to cast that darkness every turn for free.
I thought its once per short rest as the rest of weapon abilities ...
So anyway, i would move Shar's Spear from "really sucks" tier to "really depends on your party composition" tier. smile

What really sucks tho, is Selunite Spear imho. laugh

Shar's spear is, due to how its special abilities work, an absolute nuke if you can force a crit + smites. Consequently, played correctly spearadin is one on the highest damage builds in the game
