Let's just say I'll never play BG3 without having a romance with Astarion. And I will never deny him Ascension. Yes, my Tav can go to great lengths for Astarion and against the "good" that is supposed to "break" Astarion. But the question is, why should a player go to war with the game for the opportunity to do what he wants to do? In a good RPG, one should confront those in-game obstacles and challenges that arise from the game's story, as part of the roleplay, not go to war with the scenario itself.
