The Dark Urge and Orin have one crucial difference: The Urge had been physically killed, deader than dead. The Urge in the player's control is no longer the same - that's why the player is given the opportunity to write and rewrite a story for the Dark Urge. Orin? Never had this experience and can never have this either. Technically, the Urge is a genuine clone of Bhaal. Orin? Just a spawn of a spawn, enabled via a special blood line. The Urge could survive being erased, ultimately because he/she had no ordinary birth to start with.
