Isn't that Shadowheart's decision?
In principle, you are right. Your companions typically do not decide for themselves when they make decisions about their walk of life, e.g. blow themselves up, or incinerate themselves, or sacrifice one or two parents. But before Shadowheart can even make a decision on her hair, there should be a way to raise the question. And presently that is not possible. These are the possible reactions when she shows her new look and asks you to be honest about what you think about it:
1. If it helps you put the past behind you, I 'm all for it.
2. I love it.
3. Not for me - but who cares?You see? There is no way to tell her she looks stupid now and should change her hair back ASAP.
Good friends, and lovers especially, need to be honest with each other. You tell each other when your zipper is undone, or your skirt is tucked in your pantyhose, right? So if you have a good relationship with Shadowheart, there needs to be an option to tell her she made a mistake and should fix it. It just makes sense.
What she'll do about the suggestion is up to the developers. It could be followed by a charisma roll, or an approval hit. But it would be great if there was a route to her actually changing back her hair.
