It only looks like that because of Tav face. I wouldn't be surprised if Astarion enjoys intimate banter, tease. He's a rogue, after all. I wrote in this thread that when a player can't move, which is potentially dangerous\uncomfortable, he holds back laughter. That's his regular line. Astarion as a spawn also pushes Tav down a bit. Yeah, he likes to make some pretty cheeky jokes. It's like a game of "ta-ta, gotcha" In my opinion, they went overboard on the "predatory face" thing. And some mystical reason, the player character who made the choice, several times, looks like an AU from another ending or even another choice of companion. Tav gets offended and disgruntled, which doesn't make sense on several level. There's also a problem with the dynamics here. All three kisses are the same. So it's weird on Larian's part that they decided to remove the regular kissing, in terms of rp a drow isn't going to kneel all the time, (kneel can be a one-time trust and obedience ceremony) and I think Lord Astarion would ate that up. Or they need to sit down and talk. So in terms of player comfort (although it sounds like a joke now, because knees have been added at random and everywhere else), not everyone is in kink, choose Ascension for other reasons, I'm sure Astarion wouldn't say "no" to a "regular" kiss if his Treasure wants one. "Any pleasure offered by the person" - as he said in the epilogue.
