I was ranting about this when using illithid powers on goblins for a chain of 4 conversations and I had to rest before each one as it forced me into the conversation rather than using one of my companions as was my usual way.
Last night I got thrown into Thisobalds conversation with my zero charisma cleric when I had sent forth Astarion to talk to the monstrosity - I was praying to Lolth along with my character during the saving throws .
It was even worse on the gold boss I bearly had any options due to lack of skills it was pretty much fight me and I've managed to avoid fighting her for 9 runs.
