The neutral option is
leaving the Crown in the Chiontar
and not engaging with Mystra at all. From my understanding, if you return the Crown to her, they sort out their differences become friends again (as much as this is possible with the divine) and that is nice too. I also don't think that Gale's growth is directly related to Mystra. At the beginning he takes all his self-worth from his abilities as a wizard and sage, during the game he learns that there is more to live for than his job - unless you play Lady Macbeth to him and encourage him to take the Crown.
I might be wrong, but I think for bug reports it is better to send them directly through the bug report form, where they are processed and send to the devs.
