We (2 player, we each have one companion) had gotten through most of the Blighted Village using conversation rather than fighting. We were a handful of exp away from level 4 at this point, so the game was off to a good start. I ran up to the goblins who were torturing the gnome with the windmill and got through the dialog options.
At this point, we got greedy and attacked the goblins for the extra exp. Upon attacking, the entire village joined in on the fight against us!
Two well placed fire arrows put most of our party near death's door.
We managed to call the ogres using the horn, but they only attacked one goblin near the entrance of the village and stood there, not entering the big melee we were involved in.
...and then we died!!!
