I wouldn't be surprised if they saw the screenshots and felt the need to come rushing over to defend Larian against the "deranged fangirls.

Well could be. You could assume and call it like that or assume they want to defend the harm, which were causing, to the AA fanbase. I read a lot of comments lusting for it. Also victim blaming. I have never seen so much toxicity, narcissism and everyday sadism in a game community. Maybe someone should write a research paper about it. In any case, there is enough material.
