hello,

I am running a pci radeon 7500 on a celeron 1.3, but for some reason when I try and use the direct 3d (or whatever the third option is, the one before glide) the test program hangs on a black screen... I have win xp with the service pack.. and I think I have all the newest drivers.. any suggestions?
I know pci sucks, but it's all I've got.
otherwise, I'm forced to run the game at 640x480 on software mode in order to make it a playable speed..

Have you tried to just skip the test? What happens then?

Stolen from Raze, dealing with Radeon cards:
In the configuration program, select the resolution/settings you want to play in, then check the Skip Test box, click on the Test button (it will not run), then the Apply & Close button.


Radeon 1, click here

genius! it worked like a charm.. though it still isn't as smooth as it maybe should be... weird, cause you'd think I'd have the horse power to run it at least at 800x600... I've got 512 and 64 ddr video.... oh well, it's definately playable.
