Meantime, I would be surprised if one couldn't move honor mode save to a different place, and past it back into directory to continue. You could make a copy of the save and save it in a save place, and than move it back into save directory after a failed run.
In general, I tend to make copies of saves for any Ironman runs anyway, as in my experience most games are simply too buggy to be trusted.
