Im honestly curious ... why?
I mean ... did they ever promised something else and failed to deliver?
Even though it might sound a bit hyperbolic, I think it's totally fair.
At this point it seems everyone has at least one severe issue with BG3 that causes great disappointment or even losing faith in Larian like the OP. And most of them are well justified in several threads here.
Of course, for each of those issues someone who doesn't care about this specific aspect of the game will come around and say, this was never promised, don't be so entitled, it's a business, let Larian do what they are passionate about, and so on and so forth.
But ultimately to many BG3 is a teaser of the game it should have been (as Red Queen puts it "its reach exceeded its grasp ... tantalising glimpses of what could have been ...")
and still could be, if they didn't run out of passion for the project and lose interest. Edit: And here I'd like to add: it's a
business! it's literally
your job to cultivate and maintain passion around your projects!
