I agree, I'd like to be able to choose the origin class at character creation rather than waiting until I make it to Withers. It gets me off to a bad start when I have to discount all the things that happened in those first couple of levels.

As for not being able to change the appearance of the origin characters, I'm not sure why that's an issue. In general, I accept it, but I don't necessarily understand it. I can't help but think there must be a reason.
