I have some questions for those that have gone through such a run,or just opinions in general because apparently (yes i did spoil myself whatever) there are some lines in AA's script that I'm unable to justify in my head lol, and as a whole this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
What do I mean? Well, it seems that
when playing as Karlach, if you choose to ascend Astarion, beat the Netherbrain and then go rest, AA will try to make Karlach his consort and (big surprise) won't be able to, because he again burns himself. So far so good, but then he proceeds to say the most vile, disgusting things possible to Karlach and breaks up with her in the worst possible way. Now I know that some may say 'well what did you expect he becomes evil and loses himself and hates he's not actually all powerful yadayada' - i know, but does he also lose the remaining brain cells that he has with the ascension? I've read that Larian themselves had said that even after ascending Astarion still loves Tav (ye in a possessive kind of way), then what happens here? He is completely aware that she's essentially burning from the inside so what the schmeck? I'm really interested to know how this goes from AA's point of view when you play as him, cause I bet there would be other waaay different options to choose from here, while he just shatters you in pieces as Karlach???
I was about to start a new run as her but then I found out about this and yeah, I literally bawled my eyes out. Does he do something similar to Origin Gale? I don't know how the writers decided this would be an interesting idea, to me it's absolutely mad:D
