And you're upset that the guy didn't like that?
As it happens, people don't like you modifying their feelings and inhibitions against their will for the purpose of you exploiting them. Who'd have thunk?
Even if your exploitation in this situation was simply to get the guy to party more, you still violated him by using magic to alter his perceptions. It's understandable he'd be upset (Just like someone would be upset if you spiked their drink at a party...)
