Hello,everyone.
As you might alrewady know, there has - seemingly yesterday - something been released with a version number "1.10". It's been a weird moment : It's the most famous version number I know of, in the whole RPG or in the whole computergaming genre.
I speak of the Diablo II patch v1.10 .
If someone already has some soert of experiwence with it, I'd like to hear from you, how it "behaves" in the real game.
Thanks.

I am currently playing v1.09. I was unaware there were other issues that needed to be adressed. Do you know what it is supposed to do , Alrik? I know when they changed from v1.08 alot of items changed, and were deleted from the game. I would not want that again, as I have some really nice stuff for my characters. You have me curious now! I will have to find out more and I will tell you what I find. (Mslynx "POOFS" into the Netherworld.) Okay, I am back! I found a link! Here it is.... LINK You should be able to find all the info you need there. I am still sceptical of loosing all my stuff though, but the update does look pretty good!

There have been quite a lot of changes. 1.10 is being called a half-expansion because so much has been added. 30+ new uniques, among other things. And the game is much harder. It's almost impossible to survive the monsters in Hell difficulty without being on a team. And all the weaknesses that were exploited in 1.09 for rushing have been taken out, too. If you've had items disappearing, it's only because they were hacked or duped. Blizzard has been doing some massive cleaning up on Battlenet.

LOL @ 1.10
At first, in the realms, in order to survive, you needed godly items, and I had just collected some of the best, for which I had spent many hours saving and trading.
And with 1.10 all of my good items are gone, leaving me with avarage characters, with avarage weapons, instead of characters that were able to rule the realms..

If your items disappeared they were cheat items anyway. As has been pointed out Blizzard are trying to put a stop to cheating on battlenet.

Are you trying to say people "cheat" playing LOD, Mandrake?!

It indeed were cheated items, but I didn't create them, I bought them fare and square, because without them, you can't rule over bnet

There is a thing I don't like :
I'ver seen there are items out there which are available only in the Battle Net / Ladder games. No singleplayer.
AS a result, no singleplayer will ever in his or her whole life see them.
I don't like that. To me, it's like preferential treatment of online players.
So, now I wondered, what if there were items out there, which were only available for singleplayer, but NOT for online games ?
I believe this would be fair, then.
And I believe no-one would ever make this, because online play / multiplayer nowadays gets more and more focus (whole races, ships, items, maps, whatever ONLY available for online play) meanwhile singleplayer gets more and more crapped down , so to say.
That's my very personal point of view, and it might not be accurate, but that's how I see it.

In my opinion you are right Alrik, but this results from the rather obvious fact that Diablo2 is now 3 (almost 4) years old. I believe that very few people still play Diablo2 in singleplayer mode...
So Blizzard has reacted and is now in favour of the Multiplayer modus....

To me that is a real NOCANDO way to treat the single player! I have been playing the whole time the game has been out, and have yet to come across all of the items in a single set! Random though they be, thats nocando odds there! Does this new patch adress that?

sad to say it's a big NO. i've read the patch info & very little concerns singleplayer mode. yes, there are some new items/combo but huge chunks go to the multiplayer mode.
yeah, alrik, it doesn't feel right when games today concentrate more on multiplay than singleplay. we talked of this before in one of the threads(multiplayer) & i am one of the supporters of singleplayer.
let's hope larian's games won't have such issues.
